PESHAWAR: The candidates of Peoples’ Students Federation (PSF) presidential election belonging to FATA chapter demanded of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to nullify the tribal belt presidential election.
They warned that if their demands were not met within a week they would mobilize the ideologist colleagues and would form PSF ideological body.
Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, Malik Siraj Afridi, candidate of the PSF presidential election of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) said that on last 25th October the PSF president Akhunzada Chatan had conducted the PSF election and made decision against the party tradition.
He said that all the decision of PPP in tribal areas were made on selection base and even the PSF Fata president is also elected on selection, adding that they had submitted their reservations regarding the election to the PPP tribal belt spokesman.
The spokesperson, he maintained had given approval to his reservations and decided to form a committee. Flanked by Muslim Bacha, Saddam, Qadeer, Qais Shinwari and others, he alleged the current PSF president had not properly met with the criteria for the presidential candidate described by the PPP chairman because the PSF Fata president is a government employee and serving watchman duty in public health department.
“A candidate for the president seat must be a regular student of the university and have to be resided in the agency but the current PSF head is not a regular student of any university” he blamed. However, he said that the PSF president and general secretary four months ago had joined the Peoples’ Students Federation while votes had not casted in the all seven agencies and even the PSF Bajour agency chapter had boycotted of the election.
He demanded of the PPP chairman to take notice of their reservations and immediately issue notification to null and void the PSF Fata chapter presidential election. They said that would also record their protest in front of Bilawal House.
