KARACHI: Experts on Saturday urged that government should promote medical tourism including h
air transplantation as this can also
bring foreign remittances in Pakistan and would increase public revenues.
Almost 200 foreigners visit different cities of Pakistan every month for h
air transplant which shows their trust on skills and capabilities of Pakistani surgeons.
This was stated by h
air transplant surgeons while delivering their lectures and later talking with media persons during opening session of the
second annual three-day meeting of Hair Restoration Society of Pakistan (HRSP) held here on Saturday in a local hotel.
Experts said that the Pakistani doctors are providing a world quality h
air transplant service which is attracting foreign patients.
At present, almost 200 foreigners from gulf countries, Europe, USA, Canada and Australia visit Pakistan every month for h
air transplant because this treatment in their countrie
s is 10 times higher as compared to Pakistan, said Dr. Hanif Saeed.
“Government should promote medical tourism like other countries in the world and this will also promote soft image of Pakistan,” said Dr. Hanif Saeed.
We provide world quality h
air transplant services attracting foreign patients. This can also
bring foreign remittances in Pakistan increasing public revenues, he explained. Experts have said h
air transplant in foreign countrie
s is 10 times more costlier than Pakistan.
Another speaker Dr. Tahir Shaikh said Government has imposed 13 percent GST on h
air transplant surgery which should be exempted as this is also a treatment and every patient has the right to get treatment without taxes. We will also send our recommendations to Pakistan Medical & Dental Council to regulate this sector.
People
facing hair fall issues are also suffering psychological pressures and loose their confidence in the society, Dr Shaikh added.
Renowned plastic surgeon Professor Faiz, Dr Zulfiqar Tunio, Dr Muhammad Iqbal and Dr Arif Husain from Canada also spoke on the occasion.
