The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has issued a power shutdown notice due to the repair, maintenance of electrical lines and development works.
According to a press release issued by the SDO Construction Sialkot, the power supply from Guna, Badiana Express, Wario, Langray-wali, Oora, Gopalpur, Rasulpur, Islamabad, Nizamabad, Neikapura, Vision feeders on January (3,10,17,24,31), Butter, Malik Shah Wali, Chand Chowk, Industrial-1 feeders on January (7,14,21,28), Chaprar, Bajwat-1, Siran feeders on January (1,4,8,11,15,18,22,25,29), Ladhar, Addha, Kot Mana, Industrial-3, Ghoenki feeders on January (4,11), Mandi, Sambrial, Darul Islam, Airport, Dhana Wali feeders on January (2,6,9,13) and Badokey, Malkhanwala, Bhopalwala feeders on January (2,6,9,13,16,20,23,27,30) will remain suspended from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
Criminal gang smashed
Police have busted a gang involved in robberies and arrested its three members including the ringleader.
According to the police spokesperson, the SHO Kotli Loharan police along with his team traced the accused by using professional skills and modern technology. The accused were identified as Toqueer alias Teera, Shams Ilyas alias Sama and Shahzeb.
During interrogations, Rs 250,000, four motorcycles, a rickshaw, six mobile phones and illicit weapons were recovered from their possession. The accused have confessed their involvement in more than 20 cases of robbery.
Three injured in road accident
Three persons were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck at Moosa Pur Stop, Pasrur, here Saturday morning.
According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, 43-year-old Wasim, 60-year-old Abdul Majeed and 28-year-old Waqas were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck. Rescuers provided first aid and shifted the injured to hospital.
USKT cricket tournament
The University of Sialkot (USKT) organised a cricket tournament, a noteworthy initiative aimed at providing students with a platform to showcase their talent.
USKT Registrar Muhammad Yaqoob and Director Sports Shahzad were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Students hailing from diverse university departments took part in the tournament.
